View Wind Direction, set Optimal Wind Conditions, and view the wind direction forecast at the location of any Waypoint on your map. Wind information in the onX Hunt App comes from the internet, so current wind conditions are not updated when your mobile device is offline.

Wind Direction on Waypoints in the onX Hunt App
View Wind Direction and set Optimal Wind Conditions at the location of any Waypoint on your map. Wind information in the onX Hunt App comes from the internet, so current wind conditions are not updated when your mobile device is offline.
Tap an existing Waypoint on your map, or create a new Waypoint. Click here to learn how to create Waypoints.
Swipe the Waypoint Card up to see Waypoints Tools.
Tap Wind Direction under "Waypoint Tools"
To view the current wind conditions at the Waypoint's location, tap "Show Current Wind," then tap the red "Apply" button at the bottom of the Wind Direction card. The wind speed and direction are shown in the black oval above the Waypoint on your map.
To set your optimal wind direction, tap "Set Optimal Wind," then tap the 8 direction buttons to choose your optimal wind directions. You can select up to 7 on the same Waypoint.
For example, if the game species is northeast of you, set the optimal wind condition to "Northeast" to make sure you're downwind.
To hide the Wind Direction and Optimal Wind Conditions on your map, tap the slider button on the Wind Direction Waypoint tool.
To completely remove Wind Direction and Optimal Wind Conditions from a Waypoint, tap "Edit" on the Wind Direction Waypoint tool, then tap the trashcan icon.
Wind Calendar in the onX Hunt App
*NOTE: This feature is not yet available for Android devices.
The Wind Calendar shows the forecasted wind speed and direction at the location of Waypoints that have Wind Direction turned on.
Open the Map Tools Menu.
Tap "Wind Calendar."
The wind Calendar shows the wind forecast for the next week. Tap a date along the top of the menu to view the wind forecast for that day.
Tap the slider next to "Only show waypoints on the map" to show the wind Calendar for just the Waypoints visible on your map.

Set either the current wind conditions or the optimal wind conditions.
Click the "Wind Calendar" tab at the top of the Waypoint card.
You can also view the Wind Calender for all waypoints that have Wind Direction set by clicking the Wind Calendar Tool on the right side of the screen.
