My maps are blurry when I'm connected to the internet
Step 1: Make sure your onX Hunt App is up to date.

Step 2: Check your internet connection.
Make sure your device is connected to the internet, either through Wi-Fi or mobile data. If you're connected, you'll see the Wi-Fi and/or mobile data icons at the top of the screen.
Wi-fi:
Mobile Data:
Next, check to make sure your device is not in Airplane Mode. Airplane Mode disconnects you from the internet. If you're in airplane mode, you'll see the airplane icon at the top of the screen.
Airplane Mode:

Step 3: Check your mobile data signal strength.
A low mobile data signal strength slows down your internet connection significantly. Check the mobile data bars at the top of the screen. If you only have one or two bars your signal strength is low, which could cause your maps to look blurry. Move to an area with a stronger signal and it should improve.
In order to use the onX Hunt App effectively in areas with low signal strength, save your maps before you head out using the Offline Maps feature. Click here for instructions on how to save Offline Maps.
Step 4: See if Recent Satellite Imagery is turned on.
If your map is blurry or shows a lot of cloud cover, you may have this option turned on. On the main screen, look above the Map Layers Button for a dark rectangle with a date range.
If you see the rectangle and date range, tap the Basemaps Button on the right side of the screen.
Turn off Recent Satellite Imagery.
Step 5a: Clear the onX Hunt App's cache on iPhones and iPads.
Tap the main menu button in the upper left corner of the main screen.
Tap "Settings."
Scroll to the bottom of the Settings menu and tap "Clear Map Cache."
Step 5b: Clear the onX Hunt App's cache on Android phones and tablets.
Before clearing the cache, make sure your device is connected to the internet.
Clearing the cache will not delete any of your saved content, but it will clear your saved preferences and permissions, log you out of the onX Hunt App, and remove any saved Offline Maps from the device. Once you log back in, you can redownload your maps by tapping the downward-pointing arrow in the Offline Maps menu to the left of each map title.
To clear the onX Hunt App's data, open the settings menu on your phone and tap "Apps."
Scroll through the list of installed apps and tap onX Hunt.
Tap "Storage."
Tap "clear data" and "clear cache."
If these steps resolved the issue, we suspect the problem may have occurred when the app was displaying the map at a time when you did not have a stable internet connection and did not have a saved Offline Map of that area. To prevent this from happening in the future, it’s good practice to save Offline Maps of areas you will be viewing when you do not have reliable internet, like your favorite hunting spots.
