Using the Off-Grid Maps feature in conjunction with airplane mode on your device will preserve your battery life considerably.
Step 1: Before heading out, save an Off-Grid Map of the area you plan to visit.
Step 2: When you leave, tap "Go Offline" in the Off-Grid Maps Menu.
Step 3: Put your device into airplane mode.
Do not log out of the onX Hunt App. If you attempt to log back in without an internet connection, you will not be able to. Close the app normally without manually logging out, and you will still be able to access it when you're outside the cell network.

Keep in mind that when your device is in airplane mode, you will not be able to make phone calls, text or connect to the internet.
Many devices have a "battery saver," "power saver" or "battery life extension" feature. onX recommends that you DO NOT use this feature. When this feature is in use, your device will record your location less accurately, meaning your location in the onX Hunt App may appear to be incorrect, tracks you record may not reflect your actual path and Waypoints may not be placed in the correct location.
