Map information like private lands, government lands, and hunting units are separated into Layers that can be turned on and off, so you can customize your map and view only the information you need. onX Hunt has a lot of information, so Map Layers that you don't use regularly can be stored in the Layer Library to keep them out of the way.

Using Map Layers in the onX Hunt App
Map Layers contain information you can show or hide on your map, like Private and Government Lands, Hunting units, private land access programs, and more.

Tap the Map Layers Button in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen to open the Map Layers Menu.
Map Layers are grouped into Layer Folders. Tap a folder to open or close it and see the Layers it contains.
Map Layers with a green border around the icon are turned on. Tap the icon next to a Map Layer's name to turn it on or off. Many Layers will not be visible on the map until you zoom in close to the ground.
The Map Layers Menu is grouped into two sections:
- My Layers: Map Layers that can be turned on and viewed on the map.
- Layer Library: storage location for Map Layers you don't regularly need.
Using the Layer Library in the onX Hunt App
Tap "Layer Library" at the top of the Map Layers Menu.
Layers in the Layer Library are grouped into Folders, just like in the My Layers Menu. Tap a folder to open or close it and see the Layers it contains.
Tap the plus sign icon next to a Map Layer's name to move it to the My Layers Menu and turn it on.
You can move all the Map Layers in a Folder to the My Layers Menu at once by tapping "Add All Layers."
If you don't think you'll need a Layer very often, you can move it to the Layer Library to keep it out of the way. In the My Layers menu, tap "Layer settings" or "More" underneath the Map Layer's name.
Tap "Put back in Layer Library" to move it to the Layer Library and turn it off.
To move an entire folder back to the Layer Library, tap "Remove all Layers" underneath a Layer folder's name in the My Layers Menu.

Tap "Layer Settings" or "More" underneath a Map Layer's name to view the Layer's options.
Tap an empty circle underneath "Change Sublayer."
