Markups are Waypoints, Lines, Shapes, and Tracks saved to your onX Hunt account. You can use the Import and Export features in the onX Hunt Web Map to transfer this content to and from other mapping programs.
You can Export Markups with any level of Membership, but a Premium or Elite Membership is required to Import Markups.
Table of Contents:
- Importing Markups (Waypoints, Lines Shapes, and Tracks) into onX Hunt.
- Exporting Markups (Waypoints, Lines, Shapes, and Tracks) from onX Hunt.
Importing and Exporting Markups is currently only available on Web Map. Click here to log into Web Map on your desktop or laptop computer.
Importing Markups (Waypoints, Lines Shapes, and Tracks) into onX Hunt
If you have Markups from other mapping programs, you can upload them into your onX Hunt account using the Import feature in Web Map on your desktop or laptop computer.
Click the My Content Button on the left side of the screen.
Click "Import" at the top of the My Content Menu.
Click "Select from computer" and use your computer's file explorer to select a KML or GPX file.
To create a new Folder for your imported Markups, click the checkbox next to "Import map data to a new folder."
Click "Import."
The uploaded file is listed in the My Content Menu along with all of your other Markups. If your Markups do not show up after importing, refresh your web browser.
Exporting Markups (Waypoints, Lines, Shapes, and Tracks) from onX Hunt
Exporting Markups is a great way to share a large number of Markups at once with a hunting buddy, or make a back-up of your data for personal use. Please note that when you export Markups, customizations such as colors and icons will not be saved, only the locations and names of Markups.
Click the My Content Button on the left side of the screen.
Click "Select" at the top of the My Content Menu.
Click the checkboxes next to the Markups or Folders you want to export. To export all content, click "Select All."
Click the three dots at the bottom, then click "Export."
Choose either KML or GPX format, then click "Save."
onX recommends GPX format for smaller file sizes and ease of use. KML and GPX file formats were created by Google and Garmin, so unfortunately they do not save onX customizations like colors, icons, and notes.
